The Bank of Canada has announced it’s final reduction in its policy interest rate this year, cutting it by 50 basis points! Getting closer to the 2% target.

Here’s a breakdown of the rationale behind this decision and its potential impacts:

What does this mean?

  • Lower interest rates are starting to stimulate housing activity, signalling a busy Spring market ahead!!
  • Lower interest rates are good news for variable-rate mortgage holders and those considering refinancing or new financing options.

October Market Update

Hello!

Here’s a recap on the October market update!

Residential real estate market sales are below average for October in the Kootenay region as high interest rates continue to dampen market activity. At the same time, the average price in Trail has come up a tiny bit! Despite high demand we will see a seasonal slowdown is in the forecast. Although sales activity is trending below average within the Kootenay/Boundary region, it is still one of the more affordable markets in the province!
